I am aware that just how important it is not only to showcase my work but also to introduce myself to those who do not know me and give you an idea of who I am and what had got me into hairdressing in the first place.
Hairdressing… Never any question for me right from the outset I knew I wanted to be a hairdresser. I got my first job as a YTS trainee (now that shows how old I am!) joining a large firm. I continued my hair journey working in many salons in both Southampton and Winchester before emigrating to Australia for nearly 10 years. Australia is a wonderful country but the UK is where my heart is.
I returned back home and had a brief spell working for Virgin Atlantic as a Flight Attendant but after a brief period back and forth to the US, I learnt that spilling drinks over my passengers wasn’t for me so then I return to what I loved – hair!
Embarking on a freelance career and leaving the salon environment wasn’t an easy decision as I loved the camaraderie of my fellow hairdressers but truly love the freedom to take my time and spend one to one time without any time constraints set on me. My passion is colour and love a colour correction.. which right now after lockdown is pretty much everyone!
I have used all this time in lockdown to educate and improve my skills with many courses and also joined a VIP hairdressers group which has been incredible support and advice and returned with added enthusiasm and many new skills.
