Why does hair turn green in pools & hot tubs?

We have all seen it happen or actually endured the dreaded green tinge maybe from swimming or from a hot tub

•But do you know why ?

First let’s take a look here at the Statue of Liberty! Did you know it isn’t actually green? It’s copper! Over many years it has oxidised from the sea air (salts) & elements which gives it this green colouring.

If copper is present in water the chlorine oxidises the copper turning everything porous green including your hair! If the copper isn’t removed from your hair it will carry on oxidising from the air! Just like Statue of Liberty. Not all hot tubs & pool may contain high levels of copper it depends on the chemicals used to control the bugs!

So l just use ketchup on the hair right? Well there is a hint of truth in this not that I would recommend this. It’s acidic which will neutralise the copper somewhat with the red colour thought to neutralise the green tone! Once you take care of the metals if there is any green remaining I suggest you use a diluted red – pink matched to the level of the green to neutralise. But first to combat this is use either a natural remedy such as apple cider vinegar or a “Malibu” hair detox treatment or any other treatment such as K18 chelating spray especially formulated to break the metals & minerals down.

It’s important you do this before you start correcting any green residue as your colour results will be effected.
